Summer Matters Identity
Summer Matters is the first-ever statewide initiative to focus on creating and expanding access to high quality summer learning opportunities for all California students. Without this network of school districts, educators, government agencies, nonprofits, funders, civic leaders and parents working together, children — especially those in low-income communities — can fall dramatically behind in reading, math and nutrition. The identity that we developed uses the sun as a backdrop to symbolize summer, growth, and a warm environment. Silhouettes of children enjoying a variety of activities, from mental to physical, combine with the sun to create a bold and memorable mark that instantly communicates the sunny possibilities that summer holds. The Summer Matters campaign is now in its fifth year and going strong!
