Longtime client, Spectrum Organics, was launching a new line of premium grill sauces. This new product line would take them out of the culinary oil section—where they had considerable presence with many products— and put them in the grill sauce and marinade area of the grocery store, a section teeming with specialty gourmet offerings and many individual, high-end producers. We used Spectrum’s key differentiator—high quality ingredients that create unique flavors of the world—as our design inspiration. Cut-out photographs of the key ingredients in each sauce are set against clean, white backgrounds. Traditional typography links the sauces to their historic recipes and winks at the romantic origins of the recipes the sauces are created from. The result is a label that bridges the gap between old world and new, and makes a bold statement on the shelf while still staying tied to the overall Spectrum family brand.
