When an experienced contractor decided to open his own firm, we were asked to create an identity that immediately communicated his core values: craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality materials. The logo itself is inspired by precision construction tools, using a carpenter’s square to frame the letter “R.” To express the client’s love of wood and carpentry, we used actual wood veneer instead of paper for the printed business cards. The result is an elegant design with visual and tactile impact that appeals to a variety of customers with various needs—from commercial interiors to high-end residential remodels.
